Campaign Article: Organize activities to respond to World Oceans Day (8th June), Viet Nam Seas and Islands Week 2024

World Oceans Day is the first initiative proposed by the Government of Canada in 1992 at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. It was later recognized by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO in the International Year of the Ocean 1998, organized in Lisbon (Portugal), where Vietnam also participated in this event. Since 2009, the United Nations General Assembly officially designated June 8 as World Oceans Day.

Fighting against allegations distorting the protection of Vietnam’s sovereignty over seas and islands in Cyberspace

In recent years, taking advantage of the rapid development of the Internet and social media platforms, hostile and reactionary forces have fully exploited these tools to spread false and distorted narratives about the situation in the South China Sea and Vietnam's maritime sovereignty. These actions have caused instability in national security and political order, disrupted social safety, and pursued a scheme of "peaceful evolution" against Viet Nam.  

The 45th anniversary of the victory of the war defending the southwestern border and, together with the Cambodian troops and people, defeating the genocidal regime

Viet Nam and Cambodia are two neighboring countries with friendly and harmonious relations, with their people having a long history of solidarity, mutual support, and assistance. During the resistance against the common enemy, French colonialists and American imperialists, in response to the call of the Cambodian revolution, Vietnam was ready to send volunteer troops to help its neighboring country. The victory in Cambodia’s struggle against the U.S. imperialist forces on April 17, 1975, was also a victory of the enduring and sincere solidarity between the three Indochinese countries.
